Getting to your NCL ship
Southampton has five cruise terminals: Ocean, QEII, City, Mayflower and Horizon. Norwegian Cruise Line uses different terminals by ship and season. Your cruise documents confirm the terminal for your sailing, and your driver drops you at the right one. See the five Southampton cruise terminals.
- Flying in from the US or Europe? We track your flight into Heathrow or Gatwick and allow for delays. For a same-day sailing, leave plenty of time and consider staying the night before.
- Open-jaw sailings start or end in another city. After a one-way cruise back into Southampton, book us for the return to Heathrow or London.
- Families and groups fit in an MPV, 9-seater or 16-seat minibus. See group transfers.
Fixed fares start from £146 from the Heathrow area and £176 from central London, per car rather than per person, with luggage included. The MPV is +£15. Your fare is confirmed before you pay.
Parking or a transfer?
Many NCL passengers compare port parking with a car to the ship. With parking you still drive yourself there and back, pay for every day the car is left, and face the drive home after an early disembarkation. A transfer for two or more people is often similar in cost, and nobody has to drive. We compare the two on our parking vs transfer page.

Norwegian sailings outside high summer, and planning Prima's 2027 season
Norwegian Prima's 2027 programme from Southampton covers Norway, Iceland, the Baltic and the Mediterranean, and the winter months are when a lot of those cabins are booked. It makes sense to sort out the transfer at the same time, while you have your sailing date in front of you. The fare is fixed for the vehicle and agreed before travel, so nothing changes between booking in January and travelling in summer. If you are joining a Norwegian ship at either end of its season or on a repositioning voyage, the same applies, though the weather on the M3 is far less predictable then.
Northern itineraries need warmer packing than most people expect, even in summer, and that is doubly true at either end of the season. Fleeces, waterproofs and walking boots for Iceland or the fjords add bulk, so a couple who would normally fit in a saloon might want the MPV. Early and late in the season the ship's arrival back into Southampton is also more exposed to bad weather in the North Sea and the Channel, so we track the actual docking time rather than relying on the schedule.
- Transfer booked in winter alongside your cabin, at a fixed fare.
- Shoulder-season ship arrivals tracked when weather delays docking.
- Car warmed up for cool spring or autumn mornings at the terminal.
- Room for fjord and Iceland layers, waterproofs and boots.
If you fly home after the cruise instead of driving, our Southampton to Heathrow and Southampton to Gatwick transfers run all year round.
Questions
Do you cover Norwegian repositioning and shoulder-season sailings as well as summer ones?
Yes. We take Norwegian passengers to Southampton for any sailing, including repositioning voyages and departures early or late in the season. Booking works the same way in every month: a fixed fare for the vehicle with luggage included, agreed before you travel, and paid by card or to the driver on the day.
If an early-season storm delays our Norwegian ship back into Southampton, how do you know?
We follow the ship's actual arrival, not just the published time. Most ships are alongside by about 06:00, but rough weather in the North Sea or the Channel can hold one back or change its berthing slot. Your driver adjusts the pickup to match and meets you outside the terminal when you have your cases.
Can I book a transfer during the winter for a Norwegian Prima sailing in 2027?
Yes, and many people do it while they are booking the cruise itself. Give us the sailing date, the pickup address and the number of passengers and cases, and we will confirm the vehicle and a fixed fare. If your plans or the ship's timings change before summer, just let us know and we will update the booking.
Which terminal does Norwegian Cruise Line use in Southampton?
It depends on the ship and date. Your NCL cruise documents confirm the terminal, and we drop you at the right one.
Can you collect us from Heathrow on the day we sail?
Yes. We track your flight, but allow enough time for delays and the 65–90 minute drive before check-in closes.
Do you do the return from the ship to the airport?
Yes. Book the return with your outbound transfer and we will be waiting when you disembark.
