Group cruise transfers to Southampton
Cruises are often family occasions: a milestone birthday, a wedding party, three generations on one ship. Getting everyone to the terminal in separate cars, or on a train with twenty suitcases, is the stressful part. One vehicle keeps the group together, carries the luggage and costs a fixed price for the vehicle, not per person, so the larger the group the less each person pays.
- ✓ TfL-licensed operator · licence 11588

- ✓ Flights tracked · 60 min free airport waiting
- ✓ Driver details sent before you travel
- ✓ Free cancellation up to 24 hours
Which vehicle
- MPV — for up to 6 passengers with moderate luggage; the usual choice for two couples with cruise cases.
- 9-seater — for up to 8 passengers, with room behind the rear seats for large cases.
- 16-seat minibus (Ford Transit) — for up to 16 passengers, for wedding parties, clubs and extended families.
Cruise luggage is bigger than airport luggage: formal wear, a fortnight of clothes and often a garment bag each. As a rule of thumb, if your group is at the top of a vehicle’s passenger limit, choose the next size up, and tell us your case count in the booking notes so we send the right vehicle.
Where we collect groups from
Heathrow and Gatwick arrivals, with the flight tracked and 60 minutes of free waiting from the actual landing time; London hotels and homes; and anywhere in between. If your group is arriving on different flights, book a separate vehicle per flight, since a single vehicle can only wait so long for the last arrival.
Getting the timing right
Terminals stagger check-in by deck or loyalty tier, and large groups often have different times. We set the pick-up from the earliest check-in time in your party. See the embarkation-day timeline and what parking would cost instead.
Fares
Every vehicle has a fixed fare per journey, shown in the booking form before you pay, with luggage included. For example, from central London a saloon starts at £176 and an MPV is £15 more. Select your pick-up, your terminal and the vehicle, and the price for the whole group appears straight away.
Family and group sailings over Christmas and New Year
Christmas and New Year cruises are often family occasions, with grandparents, grown-up children and grandchildren all sailing together. Getting a party like that to Southampton by train in December is hard work: different starting points, connections that may be replaced by buses during festive engineering works, and a pile of luggage on the platform. Keeping the whole group in one vehicle, or in a pair of cars arriving together, means everyone reaches the terminal at the same time and nobody is left waiting outside in the cold.
Festive luggage is heavier than summer luggage. Alongside the usual cases there are winter coats, outfits for the Christmas gala dinner and, often, wrapped presents for opening on board. Tell us the head count and the number of cases and we will match the vehicle: an MPV carries six passengers and four cases, and larger group vehicles are available for bigger parties. With the majority of Christmas ships departing in the four days from 19 to 22 December, those dates fill up early.
- One warm vehicle for the whole party instead of several cold platforms.
- No-one stranded by a cancelled connection or replacement bus over Christmas.
- Flights for relatives flying in are tracked, so a delayed arrival does not split the group.
- Space planned for coats, gala outfits and presents as well as the cases.
For a family get-together in the quieter winter weeks without a ship involved, our Chewton Glen country hotel chauffeur service takes groups to the New Forest coast, and airport transfers cover relatives flying in.
Questions
Can you move our whole family together for a Christmas or New Year cruise?
Yes. Tell us how many people are travelling, where they are starting from and how much luggage you have, and we will suggest one larger group vehicle or matching cars that arrive at the terminal together. Festive sailing dates book up, particularly the days between 19 and 22 December, so it is worth confirming the group transfer as soon as your cabins are booked.
If our ship is late back after a stormy crossing, does the group vehicle still meet us?
Yes. We track the ship's arrival, so if bad weather delays docking or changes the berth time, the pickup moves to match. The driver meets your party outside the terminal once everyone has collected their cases, which matters with a large group because people rarely clear the building at the same moment.
What is the largest vehicle you have?
A 16-seat Ford Transit minibus for up to 16 passengers. For larger groups, book two vehicles.
Is the price per person?
No. It is one fixed fare for the vehicle, so the cost per person falls as the group gets bigger.
How much luggage fits?
It depends on the vehicle and case sizes. If your group is at the top of a vehicle’s passenger limit, choose the next size up and give your case count in the booking notes.
Can you collect a group from Heathrow and take them to the ship?
Yes. We track the flight, meet the group in arrivals and drive straight to the terminal; Heathrow to Southampton is about 75 to 90 minutes.
