Bicester Village by Chauffeur: Shop Freely, Leave Lightly

- Car on standby while you shop
- Boot space for a full day's haul
- Add Oxford, Blenheim or Soho Farmhouse
- Fixed quote from London or Heathrow
A Shopping Day Built Around You, Not a Timetable
Bicester Village sits just off junction 9 of the M40, about 65 miles from central London, and it is busy almost every day of the year. Coaches arrive in waves, the train from Marylebone fills with visitors, and the A41 approach queues at weekends and in the run-up to Christmas. A chauffeur takes the logistics out of it: you leave London at a time that suits you, arrive at the drop-off point, and simply message your chauffeur when you are ready to be collected, whether that is after two hours or six.
The real advantage shows at the end of the day. Shopping bags, garment carriers and boxed handbags add up quickly, and carrying them onto a train or into a coach hold is no way to treat a new purchase. Your chauffeur meets you at the agreed pickup point, loads every bag carefully, and can return mid-visit to take the first load to the car so you keep shopping hands-free. For larger groups or serious shopping, the V-Class gives seven seats and space for six or seven large cases.
Many clients make a fuller day of it. Oxford is around 20 minutes south for lunch and a walk past the Radcliffe Camera; Blenheim Palace at Woodstock is a similar distance; Soho Farmhouse at Great Tew and Estelle Manor at Eynsham are close enough for dinner or an overnight stay. Visitors landing at Heathrow can come straight to Bicester before checking in to their London hotel. Woodford also runs this trip from Hampshire, via the A34 from Southampton and Winchester, typically in about 1 hour 30 minutes.

Built Around Who's Travelling
Corporate Hospitality
Companies entertaining overseas clients or rewarding a team often build a day around Bicester Village and Oxford. We collect from offices or hotels across London, run the day to a timed itinerary with lunch in Oxford or at a Cotswold hotel, and bring everyone back for the evening. Multiple vehicles can travel together under one fixed quote.
VIP Shoppers
For private clients, the priority is calm and discretion. A Maybach or S-Class collects you from your London residence, your chauffeur waits nearby for the whole visit, and you are never seen struggling with bags in a car park. We can coordinate with personal shoppers or a stylist travelling with you.
Families & Groups with Luggage
A family day at Bicester Village quickly fills a boot, and a group trip fills two. The V-Class seats seven with space for six or seven large cases, so everyone and everything travels back together. Child seats are available on request, and your chauffeur can collect the first load of bags mid-visit.
International Visitors
Bicester Village is a fixture on many visitors' UK itineraries. We meet you at Heathrow with a name board, track your flight, and can drive directly to the village before your London hotel check-in, with luggage secured in the vehicle. Combine the day with Oxford's colleges or Blenheim Palace, then return to Mayfair or Knightsbridge in comfort.
Woodford Chauffeur Cars vs Taxis vs UK Rail
| Woodford Chauffeur Cars | Standard taxi / minicab | UK rail | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price certainty | Fixed quote: fuel, tolls, congestion charge/ULEZ, parking and VAT included | Metered or surge-priced; extras often added | Advance fares vary; walk-up and peak fares are high |
| Door to door | Yes: from your address to the exact terminal, entrance or lobby | Usually, but few local firms cover long distances well | No: station transfers at both ends |
| Luggage | Carried for you; the V-Class takes 6–7 large cases | Limited boot space in a standard saloon | You carry it, including on stairs and changes |
| Vehicle | Mercedes-Benz E-Class, S-Class and V-Class | Varies widely | Shared carriage; a seat isn't always guaranteed |
| Driver vetting | Licensed, DBS-checked professional chauffeurs | Licensed, but standards vary | Not applicable |
| Delays | Flight tracking and live re-routing around incidents | The driver may cancel or re-price | Strikes, engineering works and cancellations |
| Work & privacy | Quiet private cabin with Wi-Fi for confidential calls | Little privacy | Public carriage; patchy signal |
| On this route | Direct and door to door with one professional chauffeur | A minicab will drop you off, but few will wait for an open-ended shopping day, and an ordinary saloon boot fills quickly once the bags start adding up. | Trains run from London Marylebone to Bicester Village station, which is convenient on the way out, but crowded return services, weekend engineering works and carrying every purchase home by hand make it hard work at the end of a long day. |

Questions Before You Book
How long does it take to get from London to Bicester Village?
From central London, allow around 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes via the A40 and M40. On Saturdays, bank holidays and weekends in December, traffic at junction 9 and on the A41 can push this past two hours, so we recommend an early start to arrive near opening time.
Will the chauffeur wait while I shop?
Yes. On a day-hire booking your chauffeur stays nearby for the whole visit. Send a message when you are ready, or when you would like the first bags taken to the car, and they will meet you at the agreed pickup point. There is no need to watch the clock.
What if traffic or a delayed flight makes us late?
We track flights for Heathrow pickups and monitor traffic throughout the day. 60 minutes of free waiting is included from your actual landing time, and a free waiting allowance applies to hotel and home pickups. If the M40 is closed or slow, your chauffeur will reroute and keep you informed.
How many shopping bags can we fit?
The E-Class and S-Class take up to three passengers with two large cases' worth of space. For a serious shopping day or a group, choose the V-Class: seven seats and room for six or seven large cases, which comfortably holds a substantial haul of bags, boxes and garment carriers.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before your pickup. If you need to change the date, call 020 8888 9988 and we will move your booking wherever we can. Peak shopping dates such as December weekends and Boxing Day book up early, so the sooner you tell us about a change, the more likely we can offer an alternative day with the same vehicle.
Can you pick us up early or bring us back late?
Of course. Some clients like to leave London early to arrive at opening time; others stay for dinner at Soho Farmhouse or in Oxford before heading home. Every fare is fixed before you book: early-morning and late-night journeys have no meter, and any peak-time or holiday surcharge is shown on the booking page before you pay. We include your full timings in a single fixed quote. Your chauffeur stays with the car throughout.
Can we combine Bicester Village with Oxford or Blenheim Palace?
Yes, and it makes for an excellent day. Oxford is around 20 minutes away for lunch or a walking tour, and Blenheim Palace at Woodstock is a similar distance. We plan the order so you avoid the busiest periods, and your chauffeur waits at each stop.
Can you take us from Heathrow straight to Bicester Village?
Yes. Heathrow is about 50 miles from Bicester Village via the M25 and M40. Your chauffeur meets you in arrivals, loads your luggage securely, and drives straight to the village, then on to your London hotel or an Oxfordshire stay at the end of the day.
