Southampton's commercial life is spread out. Research and engineering firms sit at Southampton Science Park in Chilworth, Ordnance Survey operates from Adanac Park at Nursling, cruise and maritime businesses cluster around the docks and Ocean Village, and much of the professional services sector works from Solent Business Park at Whiteley or Segensworth. Moving a visiting board between those sites by taxi means several bookings, uncertain cars and a lot of waiting. Because we are based here, our chauffeurs know the gate codes, visitor car parks and quickest cross-town links, including the M27 and the A33 through Chilworth.

The University of Southampton generates a steady flow of high-value travel: keynote speakers for conferences, external examiners, overseas research partners and senior leadership heading to meetings in London or with funders. Its sites are dispersed, with Highfield, Boldrewood, the Avenue campus, the National Oceanography Centre at Empress Dock and the medical school at Southampton General Hospital. We collect guests from Heathrow, Gatwick or Southampton Airport, deliver them to the correct building rather than a generic campus entrance, and return them for evening flights after a long day of sessions.

Corporate clients use us for more than airport runs. A single E-Class booking can cover a morning site visit at Chilworth, lunch at a waterfront hotel, an afternoon meeting in Winchester and a return to the office, with the chauffeur waiting discreetly between stops. For London days, the M3 gives a door-to-door journey that lets executives work on board with Wi-Fi rather than juggling a crowded South Western Railway service and the Underground. Every quote is fixed and all-inclusive, so finance teams approve the cost before the journey happens.

Who we drive

Built Around Who's Travelling

Corporate Executives

Senior leaders at Solent-area firms use us for London board meetings, investor days and client visits in Reading or Basingstoke. The chauffeur collects from home in Chandler's Ford or Winchester, waits during the meeting and returns the same evening. It turns a three-change rail and Tube trip into a productive working session with a fixed cost that goes straight onto the company account.

VIP and Honorary Guests

University ceremonies, invited lectures and sponsor events often bring high-profile guests who expect discretion. An S-Class collects them from Heathrow or a London hotel, delivers them to the correct campus entrance and stays on call for dinner afterwards. Our licensed, DBS-checked chauffeurs are used to working to an event schedule and liaising with organisers rather than the guest.

Relocating Staff and Families

New appointments to the University, the hospital or a Science Park firm often arrive with months of luggage. A V-Class collects the whole family and up to seven large cases from Heathrow or Gatwick and takes them to temporary accommodation in Bassett, Portswood or Chandler's Ford. Child seats are fitted on request, so the first journey in the UK is a calm one.

International Researchers and Partners

Overseas collaborators flying in for project meetings at the National Oceanography Centre or Boldrewood rarely know that Southampton has several campuses miles apart. We track their flight, meet them at arrivals and take them directly to the right building, then return them to the airport after the final session, avoiding the coach, train and taxi combination most visitors otherwise attempt.

On this routeDirect and door to door with one professional chauffeurLocal taxis are fine for short hops but rarely suit multi-stop business days, cannot guarantee a consistent executive vehicle and are not set up for waiting through long meetings.Southampton Airport Parkway and Southampton Central are well connected to London Waterloo, but none of the main business parks or university campuses sits beside a station, so every rail journey ends with a taxi or bus for the final few miles.

FAQs

Questions Before You Book

What if my visitor's flight or train is delayed?

For airport pickups we track the flight in real time and adjust automatically, with 60 minutes of free waiting included from the actual landing. For station, office and campus collections, a free waiting allowance is included, and we monitor live rail updates so your guest is not left on the forecourt at Southampton Airport Parkway when their train runs late. Delays do not change the fixed quote.

Can you cover very early starts and late finishes?

Yes. Many corporate clients need a 4am departure for a Heathrow long-haul flight or a late return after a London dinner. Chauffeurs are scheduled with proper rest so they are fresh on the road. Every fare is fixed before you book: early-morning and late-night journeys have no meter, and any peak-time or holiday surcharge is shown on the booking page before you pay. This is always shown in your quote, so your finance team sees the full cost before approving the booking.

How much equipment or luggage can you carry?

An E-Class or S-Class takes two large cases plus laptop bags. For conference stands, sample cases, survey equipment or a relocating family, the V-Class carries up to seven passengers with room for six to seven large cases. Tell us about unusual items such as poster tubes or instrument cases and we will confirm the right vehicle before the day.

What is your cancellation policy for corporate bookings?

Meetings move, and we understand that. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before your pickup. Account clients can amend times, pickup addresses and passenger names by calling 020 8888 9988, and we will confirm any change in writing so your booking records stay accurate for internal approval. If a visiting guest's trip is postponed, we can hold the booking details ready for the new date.

Do you offer corporate accounts with monthly invoicing?

Yes. Regular clients can open an account so that bookers across your organisation reserve journeys under one agreement, with fixed all-inclusive quotes and consolidated invoicing. Each journey can carry your own cost-centre or project reference, which makes it simple for university departments and research groups to reconcile travel against grants or budgets.

Which campus entrance will the chauffeur use?

We ask for the exact building when you book, because the University's sites are miles apart. Highfield, Boldrewood, the Avenue campus, the National Oceanography Centre and Southampton General Hospital each have different access and drop-off arrangements. Your chauffeur arrives at the nearest practical entrance and, if the guest is unfamiliar, can walk them to reception.

Can one booking cover several business parks in a day?

Yes, and that is where a chauffeur saves the most time. A typical day might start at Southampton Science Park, move to Adanac Park, then lunch in Ocean Village and finish at Whiteley. The chauffeur waits between meetings, so you never search for a taxi, and the whole itinerary is priced as one fixed booking.

How long should I allow from Southampton to central London?

Outside peak times, allow 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours to Westminster or the City via the M3. For a 10am meeting on a weekday, we would usually leave Southampton around 7am to cover queues near the end of the M3 and on the A316. We will suggest a departure time when you book and adjust it if the forecast traffic looks heavy.
